In 1964 the Western Region of BR used, reportedly, 49 warflats as the basis of a cold Coil wagon which had pairs of covered cradles of 13ft. 1in and 19ft 7in. Initially many, perhaps all, were branded to work between the SCOW Abbey and Orb Works in Newport. Later they were used conventionally, usually out of South Wales to many parts of Britain.
